What appears to be a simple cycling accident on a mountain trail is, in fact, a deeply personal event that befell the artist in spring 2024, during the creation of his “Catastrophes” series. With facial injuries that lingered for months, he felt compelled to weave this moment into his visual narrative. To intensify the drama, the entire composition is tilted, capturing the cyclist mid-fall. The three legs depicted are not separate figures, but the same leg shown at three successive instants—echoing the surreal sensation that time slows or even halts in moments of crisis. This work is not just a depiction of physical collapse, but a meditation on vulnerability, suspended time, and the fragile choreography of accident.
